Since its launch in February this year, Flexi Digital Marketing has continuously strived for growth and improvement. This time, the latest step towards this goal led to the sandy beaches of the Philippines.
With summer in full swing, the Flexi Digital team embarked on a nine-hour road trip to Tambobong Beach for the first-ever Team Building activity.
Read on to find out what happened during the three-day fun-filled and productive trip in Dasol, Pangasinan:
About the Team Building Activity at Flexi Digital Marketing
Team building is essential to foster a sense of community and collaboration, and create a positive work culture. As a growing company, Flexi Digital Marketing recognises its importance in building up the company to effectively reach its goals and work together in harmony.
Through team-building activities, everyone is able to know each other better, build trust, and help boost team morale and team spirit. And, by taking the time to relax in a non-work setting, everyone can enjoy each other's company, strengthen bonds, and refocus on the goals set and the challenges ahead.
The Flexi Digital Team Goes To The Beach
It was an early start for the Flexi Digital team. Everyone was up even before the sun rose to assemble at the designated meet-up spots. Those that lived in the Quezon City area were picked up first then the hired service van made its way to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) where the rest of the team was waiting.
Sadly, not everyone was able to make it to the team building. Some lived far while others had to bow out for personal reasons.
With that said, the trip to the north almost took nine (9) hours. From the bustling concrete jungle of Metro Manila, the team rode past sprawling farmland lands and mountainous terrains and saw peeps of glittering seascapes on the way to Dasol Bay.
The Journey to Dasol Bay
It was a relaxed road trip. The Flexi Digital team set out early in the morning to beat the morning rush.
The group made a couple more pit stops along the way. The first pitstop was at a cafe to grab coffee and really get the legs stretched for the long haul. A karindirya, or a small canteen, for lunch. A wet market to buy freshly-caught fish and crabs, and a palengke, or an open-air market, for other ingredients and essentials.
The Rollercoaster Ride Before the Calm Waters of Tambobong Beach
Nearing the destination, the relaxed vibe quickly disappeared. Before reaching the calm waters of Tambobong Beach, there was a fifteen-kilometre stretch of a winding road to go through. It would be considered mild by rollercoaster standards. However, the sharp curves that twist left and right and steep inclines coupled with the pace of the van made it a nauseating ride for some members.
A Team Spirit Forged From Openness and Sincerity
After surviving the tumultuous drive, the team building began just as the Flexi Digital team arrived at the hotel.
On the first day, the Flexi Digital team took the time to recoup and relax from the long drive. The group bonded while walking along the shoreline and wading into the cool waters of Tambobong Beach to watch the small marine life, such as jellyfish and hermit crabs. Everyone took a moment to watch the afternoon grow dim while hanging out in a small floating cottage.
In the evening, the team enjoyed a simple and fulfilling feast made from the ingredients bought earlier. Everyone got to know each other better as every member took turns sharing stories, first impressions, and the things and qualities each person admired or appreciated from one another.
Refocused Through Team Building
On the second day, the Flexi Digital team enjoyed the salt and the sea under the blazing hot sun. Everyone hopped on a bangka, or native boat, and rode to Colibra Island, a two-hectare coralline isle known for the abundance of sea snakes on the rock area.
Thereafter, the group explored beyond Dasol Bay and ventured to the Tondol White Sand Beach in Anda, Pangasinan. Arriving in the afternoon, the Flexi Digital team took in the sight of the wide expanse of the sea-bare beach, the small marine life scurrying in the shallow water pockets, and the red-orange sunset embracing the seascape.
When night fell, the team prepared and ate dinner together after arriving at the hotel. Subsequently, everyone cleaned up and convened together for another team-building activity.
The group spent the evening brainstorming. Every member voiced their ideas and shared their thoughts on what are the aspects that should be continued and how to further improve Flexi Digital Marketing. Everyone provided suggestions on what the team may need to boost the team’s work and collaboration.

Plans For The Future
All in all, Flexi Digital Marketing’s team-building activity for 2023 is a success. As the first of many, it set the tone for what the rest of the group will look forward to in the future.
Equipped with fun-filled memories, laughter, and smiles, the Flexi Digital team had the chance to forge a strong bond and understanding. Moreover, it helped everyone refocus and get a clearer picture of what everyone needed to help achieve the fledgling company’s shared goal to take the top spot as the go-to offshore marketing solutions agency.
